The Desolate Woman, The Deserted Woman

Updated: May 20, 2019

Desolate: A place deserted of people and in a state of bleak and dismal emptiness.

The word Desolate can be defined as a place that is completely deserted, empty, rejected, bleak, devoid of life and excitement, etc. Now, when you refer to a woman as Desolate, it means that she is empty, alone, deserted, rejected, in a place of ruin and disappointment, etc. This woman has come to the end of herself and is just about to give up (kill herself, stop trying, giving up on doing the right thing because it hasn't produced good results for her, hopeless, etc).

This is a woman who has been dealt a hard blow by life. Nothing has gone right for her and she feels alone, frustrated, hopeless, and abandoned. But the Bible tell us in Psalm 34:18 that,"

"The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit."

This woman, though she feels unseen, unheard, and unloved, God's eyes, heart, and thoughts are on her.

Here are four things that the Lord plans to do for the Desolate woman if she doesn't give up;

1) He Will Claim Her As His Own

Since she is deserted, rejected, alone, and unloved, God will claim her as His own. Since no one wants her, He will make her His. His precious one. His Beloved.

"Never again will you be called “The Forsaken City” or “The Desolate Land.” Your new name will be Hephzibah (The City of God’s Delight) and “The Bride of God,” for the Lord Delights in you and will claim you as His Bride." Isaiah 62:4

He will give her a new name, Hephzibah (God's Delight). Her name will no longer be deserted, rejected, abandoned, depressed, alone, etc. She will be called by a new name, Hephzibah, God's very own delight, the Apple of His Eyes, His beautiful one. She is now His and He is ecstatic to have her as His own.

2) He Will Broadcast Her (Brag About Her)

After He has claimed her as His and has cleaned her up and changed her name, He will now advertise her, show her off so that all who played a role in her desolation will see her new frame in her Beloved's hands and marvel.

"The Lord will hold you in His hand for all to see— a splendid Crown in the Hand of God." Isaiah 62:3

After He has picked her up and completely transformed her life from deserted, to full and prosperous, and from desolate to cheris@hed, loved, and fruitful, He now wants to show her off to the world. He wants to brag on her, saying, "Look at my girl. Look at her now. Isn't she thriving? The girl you rejected, abandoned, beat down, etc, is now a bright diamond, cherished, and loved, and accomplished."

He wants the whole to see and marvel at her transformation.

3) He Will Give Her Supernatural Speed To Surpass Her Contemporaries (Uncommon Favor)

“Sing, O childless woman, you who have never given birth! Break into loud and joyful song, O Jerusalem, you who have never been in labor. For the Desolate Woman now has more Children than the Woman who lives with her Husband,” says the Lord. " Isaiah 54:1

She has completely surpassed those who went ahead of her and has doubled and tripled what they have and more. That is the Supernatural uncommon favor of God (being showered on her) that is causing her to run that fast. The Lord is showing her off. And He is proving that time is not a limitation for Him. Those who thought her time had passed or that she is too old for one thing or the other, are now silenced by God's laughter over her. It's her time to shine, and God is restoring all she lost, and multiplying all her needs and desires at the speed of light.

4) He Will Establish Her For Generations To Come

"Enlarge your house; build an addition. Spread out your home, and spare no expense! For you will soon be bursting at the seams. Your descendants will occupy other nations and resettle the ruined cities." Isaiah 54:2-3

And He also reassures her that she will never go back to that place again.

"Fear not; you will no longer live in shame. Don’t be afraid; there is no more disgrace for you. You will no longer remember the shame of your youth and the sorrows of widowhood. For your Creator will be your Husband; the Lord of Heaven’s Armies is His name! He is your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel, the God of all the Earth." Isaiah 54:4-5

He will wipe away her tears and take away her shame forever, and establish her and her generations forever.

WHAT TO DO?

If you've been reading this and you feel that you are the Desolate Woman, and you feel like you don't know what to do anymore, here is what you need to do;

"... You who call on the Lord, give yourselves no rest, And give Him no rest, till He establishes Jerusalem (You) and makes her (You) the praise of the Earth." Isaiah 62:6-7

So what should you do? Don't. Stop!!! Don't stop praying, don't stop fasting, don't stop believing, don't stop being hopeful, don't stop bringing your case and petitions before God, etc. DON'T STOP! DON'T STOP! DON'T STOP!

Every time you want to give up, ask yourself, "Am I the praise of the Earth?" If not, then keep going. You don't stop till you become that ideal you version you see in your head that is glorious and a superstar.

There is hope for you, Desolate Woman. Your future is bright.

"Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up." Galatians 6:9
